Before we left for Washington, my husband and I thought we’d find something fun to do around the midway point of our trip to help break up the day for the kids. Ten hours is a long drive!! So, I searched the web and I found this pretty neat site called Roadside America. It lists attractions and “oddities” in all states, describes and reviews them, and provides beneficial information (cost to get in, phone number, directions, etc.). Using this site, I found a Lego (or as they call it, a plastic brick) Museum right about halfway in Bellaire, OH. Here’s what the trip down looked like (sorry…it’s hard to get clear photos while belted in a moving car):
So, we were ready for a break!! And it was a lot of fun!! I’m not sure if you’re aware, but Graham is a HUGE Lego fan. He is always building with them and loves to look at the boxes at the store. He was in wonder at the amazing Lego statues and landscapes. Don’t get me wrong, there were some bummers (how is it special to build a creation exactly to the specifications of the box and have that original box sitting right by your creation demonstrating this? Even I can do that!!), but there were several amazing pieces on display including a life-size Darth Vader and a Spiderman!! Here are some pics from our visit.
Then we stopped and had lunch and ice cream and were back on our way!
**If you were wondering-a day before we left for vacation Graham fell at school and skid his face across the concrete-hence the red, bloodied, bruised nose in his photos!!**
